Automotive

Stephenson & Lawyer has the materials and fabrication capabilities to provide parts for many automotive applications including air filtration, gaskets, returnable dunnage, sound absorption and anti-rattle parts. In one unique application we are using felted reticulated polyurethane foam as a filter as part of an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) device which is part of the pollution control system.

Aerospace

We have several materials that are highly fire retardant and non-burning that have been used for acoustical or thermal insulation. We stock Solimide® Polyimide foam that has been used or approved by NASA, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, U.S. Department of Defense, and Federal Aviation Administration to name just a few.

We have supplied polyimide foam that has been used for insulation on specialty test ovens on the space station. Polyimide is used because it is light weight, non-burning and does not out gas.

Appliance

Over the years we have worked on many applications for refrigerator, oven and vacuum cleaner manufacturers.

The applications have ranged from insulation, gaskets to filtration.

Agricultural

We have worked with several implement manufactures for filtering the incoming air to the cab compartment or insulating the engine compartment.

Small Engine

Stephenson & Lawyer has years of experience supplying reticulated foam for air filters for both the OEM and After Market manufacturers. We have supplied gaskets made from neoprene, EPDM, and PVC for this industry as well.

Electronics

There are many applications for foam in the electronics industry. We have the capability to custom fabricate microphone windscreens into many unique shapes and provide custom packaging for display boxes.

Reticulated felted polyurethane and melamine foam are used in ink jet cartridges as a reservoir and delivery system for ink. Reticulated felt is also used for ink rollers in various printing devices.

Sporting Goods

Flexible foam is used in the sporting goods market for padding in protective gear such as helmets, shoulder pads, shin guards and chest protectors.
