Stephenson & Lawyer has the capability to apply facings or pressure sensitive adhesive backing to most of the foams we fabricate.
We stock a reinforced aluminum foil that can be applied to most foams to provide a protective surface, wipable surface or heat reflective surface.

Reinforced Aluminum Foil
For example, in a sound enclosure around a noisy compressor where an oil or moisture mist would be in the air, the facing would provide a wipable and protective surface to open cell foams.
Depending on the application, if the volume warrants it, other facing may be available, such as fleece, Kapton®, Mylar® or vinyl.
Our sales team would welcome the opportunity to discuss your application.
We currently have 11 varieties of rubber and acrylic adhesives in stock that can be applied to most foams.

Pressure Roller
Acrylic adhesives typically offer a higher temperature operating range than rubber based adhesives.

Pressure Sensitive Backing
Rubber based adhesives typically offer a higher initial tack than an acrylic adhesive and can be more cost effective depending on the application. We also have adhesive that meet various automotive specifications.
We stock both supported and unsupported adhesives.

Supported Adhesive
Supported adhesives have a film, like polyester, for dimensional stability.

Unsupported Adhesive
Unsupported adhesives have no film, they are just adhesive and release paper.
Please contact our sales team to determine what adhesive might be right for your application.
